The Location layer contains the “location
box” – an invisible
box containing the location
region record. The location
region record gives the drawing
elements location intelligence.
A location region record is
attached to this object that
contains the name of the floor
level that appears in the
Title Block. To change the
floor level name, simply edit
the record attached to this
object. |
 |
Also
on the Location layer are the Structure perimeter
and Area perimeter. The Structure
perimeter outlines the exterior
of the building and has a
structure region record attached
that provides the name of
the structure. The area perimeter
defines useable space within
the building. An area text
record is attached to this
object and will display the
buildings total useable space
when the area text layer is
on. |
 |
The Space layer
defines the interior of rooms,
corridors and other interior
spaces such as pipe chases
etc. Records attached to the
space region include ID, Space
region (location intelligence
for objects within the space
and definition of space) and
H –Area. Other records
available that you may wish
to attach include Volume,
Perimeter, and Age Info. |
 |
The Walls layer
contains the exterior, interior
and re-locatable walls. The
ID Record is attached to walls.
Other Records you may wish
to attach are Width (calculates
length) and Volume (calculates
length x width). |
 |
The Details layer
depicts details such as changes
in elevation (stairs, stages,
platforms, pits and support
columns). |
 |
The Area Text layer
contains a text icon to display
the area of the space the
icon resides in. The area
text icon is identical to
the text layer icon and can
be used to display any of
the fields from the space
region record or the note
record attached to the icon. |
 |
The Text layer
contains the text icon used
to display information from
the space region record of
the space below the text icon
or the note record attached
to the text icon. Since the
text icon displays information
from the space region it “sits
on”, moving the icon
to another space will change
the information displayed.
Any of the fields from the
space region may be displayed.
Typically used to display
space number and space use.
The labeling layer contains
the labeling icon used to
display user defined information
from the note record attached
to the icon. Copy the labeling
icon to areas you wish to
identify or explain and enter
the information to be displayed
in the note record attached
to the labeling icon. Note
that labeling icons are available
for each module layer from
the module palettes that will
turn on and off with the module
layers. |
 |
The Title Block layer contains the cardinal
direction orientation arrow,
the drawing scale and information
about the project and drawing.
Also included on this layer
is a “notes” record
used to display information
in the same manner as the
labeling layer. |
 |
The Import Target layer displays the origin
of the drawing and is used
in the production process
of your drawing. |
 |
The Roof layer
depicts the roof panels and
is used to track critical
roof information such as warranty
information. Records attached
to each panel are ID, Asset
and Sloped area. |
 |
The Roof Fixtures layer contains roof elements
such as coping, drainage
arrows, expansion joints
and skylights. |

Layer
Sets - Allows you
to give a name to the current
layer settings. You can
turn on or off groups of
layers and change the order
of layers, all with one
selection with the mouse.
Once a layer set has been
created, the Layers pop-up
menu is divided by a slash
to separate the Layer menu
from the Layer Set menu.
Layer-sets are defined similar
to the way views are defined.
Turn on the layers you wish
to define as a “set’,
and select Create Layer
Set from the layers pop-up
menu. Once a layer-set is
defined, the layers box
will be split by a diagonal
(/) slash. Click on the
left side of the split to
bring up the Layers pop-up
menu. Click on the right
side of the split to bring
up the Layer-set dialogue
box. Additional layer-sets
can be defined here or existing
sets can be modified or
deleted. |
