with Icon Sets is an instructional
unit that will provide the user

to work with optional layers and
icon sets also know as Modules.
The user will utilize previously
acquired knowledge and skills
to accomplish this objective.

• Open the Furnishings Drawing
and find the fire extinguisher
palette.
• Name a view for this palette
• Use the selection fence
to highlight the fire extinguisher
icons
• Use the Edit – Copy
pull-down menu to copy the selection
• Use the Window pull-down
menu to return to the Hintgen
drawing
• Use the Edit pull-down
menu to paste the selection into
the drawing
• Use the Layers dialogue
box to re-order the layer order
so the new layer is between the
details and area text layers
• Move the selection to
a clear area of the drawing
• Perform the same operations
to paste an exit route line into
the drawing (Regulations, Codes
and Topics drawing)
• Go to the next selection

Icon
Types
Object
- Object icons are icons
that are actual drawings of the
objects to scale. Chairs, air
conditioners, computers and desks
are examples of object icons.
Symbolic - Symbolic
icons represent the object according
to industry standards, or as drawings
of objects not drawn to scale.
Fire extinguishers, electrical
outlets and smoke detectors are
examples of symbolic icons.
Information - Information icons represent the
presence of information relating
to a space, object or action.
Asbestos, ADA and Housekeeping
are examples of information icons.
