Stack
Windows

Stack Windows is used to re-align the
windows for all the open drawings on
the main monitor. Stack Windows also
moves the tool palette and any open
dialogs to their default positions on
the main monitor. This is found under
the Windows menu.

Zoom
Tools

Zoom In and Out - Zoom 2x and
Zoom ½ x changes the magnification
from the center of the drawing window.
Zoom
2x increases the drawing window
by a multiple of two (2).
Zoom
½ x decreases the drawing
window by a multiple of two (2).
Zoom
Home - Home view changes the view
so that the entire drawing is displayed
in the drawing window.

View
pull-down menu

Previous View returns the drawing
to its previous view. OnRequest tracks
two views of a drawing and actively
remembers the current view and the view
that appeared before a zoom.
View
% has a sub menu that provides
additional zoom ranges. Select any one
of these options and OnRequest zooms
in or out accordingly.
Paper
scale view positions the view for
the Print Window feature.
Creating
a Named View - OnRequest allows the
user to give names to specific views.
A view is that portion of a drawing
currently visible on the screen. Go
to a named view simply by selecting
it from the View pull-down menu. View
names are listed alphabetically.

Moving
the Drawing

There are three ways to move the drawing
in the drawing window:
Using the Scroll Feature - Scroll drawing
by using the scroll bars located at
the bottom and on the right of the screen
Using
the “Hand” Option - Pan
the drawing by holding down Control
+ Space Bar (for Windows users) or the
Option key (for Mac users), and dragging
the drawing to your desired direction.

NOTE: OnRequest has a “dockable”
or floating tool palette that can be
searched to the desired shape. The palette
can be docked to the top or sides of
the window. For training purposes, use
a floating vertical design. |
The
variable zoom tool may be used to zoom
to a chosen area of the drawing. Select
the zoom tool from the tool palette.
The cursor will change to a + shape.
Click once with the left mouse button,
release and drag the mouse to enclose
the area to be viewed. Click again with
the left mouse button to zoom to the
area selected.

Selecting

Selecting
objects in OnRequest is similar to other
programs using the familiar point and
click method. Selecting objects is like
making menu selections; that is, you
hold down the mouse button and click
on an object (you must click on the
edge of the object). OnRequest will
flash the object and the object will
be highlighted to show that it has been
selected.

The
Select Tool
|
With
the select tool, position the
tool close to the edge of the
object to be selected. Click
and hold down the left mouse
button. The cursor will change
to a small circle. Position
the cursor at the edge of the
object to be selected. The object
or its outline will highlight.
Release the left mouse button
to select the highlighted object.

Select
pull-down menu

The
select pull-down menu allows flipping
between the current and last selection,
select all and clear all. When Add or
Remove to/from Selection is chosen,
the operator may make multiple selections
or de-selections. Hold down the shift
key to accomplish the same Add or Remove
from selection. |
