Copy
Tool
The Copy Tool is used to duplicate
objects in a drawing.
Copy
- copies an object to a specified
point.
Continual
Copy - makes additional copies
of the object with each mouse click.
HINT: Depress and hold the shift key
to constrain the copy process to a horizontal
or 45 degree orientation.
Repeat n… - makes “n”
(where “n” is a specified
number) additional copies of the object.
Each successive copy is placed the same
distance and direction as the preceding
copy.

Move
Tool
The Move Tool is used to move an object
to a specified position in the drawing.
To
move an object: First pick
a point on the object and then pick
a second point in the drawing .
To
align objects horizontally or vertically,
use:
Plumb
Line - aligns objects along
a vertical line.
Level
Line - aligns objects along
a horizontal line.

Delete
Tool
The Delete Tool is used to erase/eliminate
objects from a drawing.
Undo
All - to undo all the deletions
that have been made since choosing the
Delete Tool.
Confirm
- when confirm is selected,
OnRequest™ gives a warning when
it is making deletions in a drawing.
If the Confirm option is not selected,
OnRequest™ will not give a warning.

Scale
Tool
The Scale Tool is used to resize objects.
Scale
by Factor - scales an object
by a specified factor or percentage.
Scale
From/To - scales an object
from a given size to a specified size.

Rotate
Tool
The Rotate/Mirror tool is used to rotate
objects by picking a center of rotation
and specifying how much to rotate the
object. The Mirror tool is used to create
a reflection of an object
across a line.
Rotate
by Angle - rotates an object
by a specified angle. A positive angle
will rotate the object counterclockwise
and a negative angle will rotate the
object clockwise.
Flip
about Horizontal/Vertical Axis - Flip about Horizontal mirrors an object
across a horizontal point (axis) and
Flip about Vertical mirrors an object
along a vertical axis.
Rotate
from/to – Rotates an
object from the current position to
match the angle of an existing object.

Constraint
Menu
This menu is found in the lower left
corner of the drawing next to the Layers
menu. The Constraint Menu dictates the
way the tools on the tool palette behave.
You can have items that are moved and/or
copied constrained to a specific direction
or angle.

Re-sizing
Handles:
An object such as an exit route line
can be stretched using its re-sizing
handles.
•
Select the line
• Depress and hold the F2 key
(Windows) or the CTRL and Option keys
(MacIntosh)
• Click on a re-sizing handle
and release the left mouse button
• Release the F2 key
• Hold down the Shift key to constrain
the line to a horizontal or vertical
position
• Re-size as needed
